What is a door reader?

A door reader is a device that communicates with credentials for access, which means it is responsible for reading a person's identification credentials, such as key cards, fobs, or biometric data, to determine whether they are authorized to enter a secured area. When an individual presents their credential to the door reader, it communicates with a control system to confirm access rights.
